It was Earth Day. It was nice outside. It was CRT testing. And the natives were DEFINITELY restless.
So, I did what any self-respecting teacher would do: I went on strike.
I ditched my oh-so-carefully-planned lesson on Renaissance artists, printed a page-sized color picture of the Mona Lisa, and then had my sixth graders draw their own version trading out the face for anything that they liked.
My favorites so far: Mona Chuck Norris, Mona Vader, Mona-ham Lincoln, Mona Terminator, Santa Lisa, and Ninja Lisa.
There was even a Mona Miss Hulet.
Educationally edifying to be sure.

Yes, yes! We want pictures! I also vote for Mona Miss Hulet, but I'm also quite curious about Mona-ham.
Way to find something to keep the natives happy. i don't think I had any teachers that would have done that.
